My Thoughts:
Conquer your Impulses is very much relevant to all of us and what makes it very special is the way in which it is written. The author starts off with an introduction of Self-control and then dives into real life examples. She draws on the experiences of many famous personalities as well as everyday names that most of us would have heard. It is clear that Catherine has done very deep research and this reflects in the details she provides in each chapter.
Catherine’s style of writing will draw the reader into the narrative and even though this is a non-fiction, self-help book, it will keep the reader’s attention until the very end. She seamlessly blends facts and concepts with real-world examples and informative conclusions that make each chapter read a great learning experience.
Self-control is something that we all think about and many of us practice it or learn to. Some of us however are still striving to achieve some amount of it. This book is a good step towards understanding the impacts of not having it and how it can help us achieve our goals in the end. I truly must conclude by mentioning that Catherine has written this book at the age of 14 and that is an amazing feat in my opinion, especially considering her attention to detail and the thought that has gone into writing this book. Kudos to the author and this is definitely on my to recommend list!
