My Thoughts:
The Brothers Finn is the first book in the series that follows Gage and Cooper as they navigate being the main suspects in their parents’ murders. Though the story starts abruptly with a sudden shift in timeline after the first chapter, the rest of the story keeps pace and draws the reader right in.
There are hunters on one side, known as The Roamers, who secretly hunt down vampires, thus keeping their existence a secret from the humans. As Gage and Cooper navigate this world, they also try to find out who was responsible for the murder of their parents.
Readers are drawn into a world where the supernatural live among humans but are not known. The relationship between the brothers is strong despite their clear character differences and this makes it all the more interesting to read about their journey. Each one has their own opinion and approaches things differently. The other characters in the story only add to the main plot and thus we have a fast-paced engaging read, with the main characters being forced to re-think all they have known and perhaps even make friends with a vampire.
I really enjoyed reading this book and meeting all the characters and am definitely looking forward to more of their adventures!

I read this book as a part of a buddy read and devoured it in a day!
When Anna finds out that she is still legally married to Liam, his request for help is something that she did not expect. Now complicit in a web of white lies, the two main characters have to find a way to convince Liam’s family that they are in love and happily married all this while.
The two main characters will grow on you, their moments together and of getting to know one another are delightful. I enjoyed reading about all the characters and the family dynamics that are brought out on this little island.
What starts off as a small lie, ends up in each character owning their truth and finding their way and even themselves. Though the story focuses on Anna and Liam, the other characters play important roles in the events that unfold in paradise!
I absolutely enjoyed reading this book. It was fun, filled with crazy moments and banter among the characters that just stayed with the reader until the very end! This is a perfect summer read and the kind of light read that makes one smile always.

Detectives of Autumn House is a novella by Manjima Misra. The novella features LGBTQIA+ detectives who solve a case related to intellectual property rights, fake job offer letters, and mysterious disappearances. The book is situated at the unique intersection of detective fiction and queer fiction.
My Thoughts:
This is generally not a genre I read very often, but I’ve enjoyed reading the author’s books in the past. This is a novella, a rather short and quick read revolving around the lives of 5 women who own a detective agency, thus working and living together. This novella focuses on the plot at hand, the mystery while also giving us insights into these characters, who they were, how they came to be where they are.
The changing timelines are not very clearly marked and this made me get confused each time. I was not sure whether the current plot is developing, or something from the past is being told. However, if this is put aside, the actual storyline was intriguing and unique.
This novella is written in the author’s unique style, one which I have come to enjoy. Do give Detectives of Autumn House a read!

I absolutely loved reading this book. It was fun and just the perfect summer read! The story follows Emma and Justin as they navigate their respective love lives which exist but do not exist. Somehow, the both of them always end up with people who after breaking up with them, find their soulmate in the next person they meet or date. Determined to turn this around, Emma, with encouragement from her best friend, reaches out to Justin through his reddit threads and together they hatch a plan to defeat the curse.
I love how this story had it’s ups and downs, but the characters were deep with issues lying under the surface. The author did not just gloss over them, but actually took time out to address some of the issues. Emma has abandonment issues and a fear of never being enough thanks to her mother and Justin is dealing with the after effects of his mother’s decisions as well as taking care of three younger siblings.
Of course the story is cliched and predictable in some ways, but this is sometimes just what is needed. A book mixed with both seriousness and fun and an all’s well that ends well vibe until the very end. I quite enjoyed this book and am glad to have read it along with some wonderful people in the community.

I was provided with an eARC from Netgalley, Author Collective 20 and the author. This is my honest review. The book is now released and available.
The story follows Valencia as she struggles to accept her fate and the truth of her existence. Everything is about to change for her and she has a decision to make. Just as she turns sixteen, she is rescued from her mother’s side by Ryker, her best friend’s brother and thrust into the other side of the world, a world she is wholly unprepared for.
As Valencia tries to fit in, finds out the truth behind Emery’s so called death and helps the plot to bring her mother down, the reader is introduced to a world of airships, advanced technology, human enhancements and so on. The story felt a little disconnected to me due to the limited world building. The character development could also have been better to help readers connect with the characters, their suffering and their hopes for a better future.
However, I did enjoy the attempt the author made to create this world, the characters, and story, and I hope to read more of the books in the series!

My Thoughts:
The Rome Apartment is a story of self-discovery, growth and strength. This is a story that stayed with me well after having finished reading it. Beth takes a chance with an ad in a magazine about an apartment in Rome available for rent. There are some conditions to this which we come to realize, much later on, had specific purposes. Seeking an escape and time to think, Beth jumps at the chance once she is approved for the stay.
The author brings out Beth’s fears, insecurities, hopes and dreams through her three month journey and adventure in Rome. She meets some amazing people and forms the kind of bonds and relationships that she has always dreamt of. In the midst of dealing with her husband’s request for a break, Beth is forced to re-evaluate her life, her options and reconcile with herself who she wants to be. She also learns how to deal with her daughter and eventually to have open and honest conversations to strengthen their relationship.
Ronnie is the kind of person I’d love to meet and spend time with. She adds the most flavour to this story while steering Beth in a direction of healing. Her story is unique though we only get glimpses and in the end, I would love to know more about her! After all, she owns this delightful apartment and is responsible for changing the lives of so many others.
I loved reading about her exploration and her journey of discovery. Each moment is magical and filled with wonder while support and encouragement comes in the most unexpected ways. This is truly a wonderful story and I look forward to reading the next book in The Italian Escape series by the author.

I loved this novella! There are no other words for it. It is sweet, funny and full of warmth. The book is a quick read and follows Natalie and Matthew as their story comes to light both in the present and the past. Natalie and Matthew meet in high school, develop a sweet friendship that’s leading to more when a misunderstanding pulls them apart.
Fast forward six years, circumstances bring them back face to face and as they discover that their feelings for each other never changed, perhaps they have a second chance after all. This novella has all the tropes that one could want in a sweet romance right from second chances to fake dating, friends to more and no 3rd act breakup.
Matthew is sweet and patient which I admire and his feelings for Natalie are genuine. Natalie on the other hand is one of those girls who truly doesn’t know how beautiful she is inside and out and is finally discovering her confidence in herself. As the two characters grow together we are in for a swoon-worthy romance.
I was fortunate enough to be a part of the eARC team for the author and I am grateful for the opportunity to read this prequel to the Love Always series, a series whose characters I adore.

My Thoughts:
This is Book 14 in the Lady Eleanor Swift series and I absolutely loved it. I have been a fan of this series and the characters, very much invested in Eleanor and her adventures. Though I haven’t read all the books and sometimes not in the right order, I enjoyed the ones that I read.
This book was a pleasant surprise and felt different than the others, perhaps due to the setting. In this story, we follow Eleanor on a trip to New York City as she navigates the glitz and glamour of the city. What follows of course is a murder and thus she is embroiled in another investigation, in a city where she isn’t as welcome as she thought she was.
Though the storyline continues from the previous and brings to us a lot of our beloved characters, this book feels different. The style of writing and the development of the plot is a little different from the rest and this is what set it apart for me. Though a little slow on the uptake, the author dove right into the plot, taking the reader along on a wonderful investigative adventure.
I truly enjoyed this book and cannot imagine missing out on further of Lady Swift’s adventures! I look forward to reading the next books.

My Thoughts:
Set in the 1960s, this is the story of Elizabeth Zott, a chemist by profession trying to navigate the world of research and study filled with men and very few women. This is one of the most original stories I have read about a woman in STEM and the difficulties faced to find her place and make a name.
All Elizabeth wanted to do was pursue her research. All the world wanted from her was to dress prettily and stay at home. Calvin Evans, already famous in the field and a Nobel nominee, was the only one who saw her for the brilliant chemist that she was. Calvin was drawn to her as much for her beauty as her mind seeing her as an equal from the moment they started talking.
Elizabeth Zott defied the odds and stood out, even when she ended up through various twists and turns as the host of a cooking show on afternoon TV with chemistry as the central focus. She teaches chemistry through cooking and through her dialogue, empowers women to see themselves as more than housewives.
This story is mixed with laughter, heartbreak and so many special moments that it draws the reader in right from the first page. The various supporting characters are wonderful and so well thought out that each of them have a very special part to play in taking this story forward. Elizabeth’s story would be wholly incomplete without Six-Thirty, her trusty dog, Harriet, her next door neighbour and even Walter Pine to name a few.
This is a wonderful story, written in a style that will keep the reader yearning for more, wanting to know what happens next and ensures that the reader is invested in the lives of the characters. Elizabeth is inspiring and refreshing as a protagonist and really made my fall in love with Lessons in Chemistry!

I came across the author’s eARC reading campaign on Instagram and was instantly drawn to the book by the premise. I quite enjoy reading about the supernatural and this book teased at something different in the genre. Vampire’s sharing their story during a flight! I was intrigued to say the least and joined the team to read and review this book!

This book blew me away from the start. The narrative is smooth and flows so well that the reader doesn’t pause even when it shifts from person to person, past and present but almost always told in first person. This is a story of origins, friends and enemies, love and honor among other things. Though slow to start, the story picks up pace towards the middle and gets more and more interesting as it unfolds with layers of Chinese history interspersed with the narrative.
There are multiple plot lines in this story and the author weaves them together seamlessly, without giving away anything very easily. It is a slow burn novel that takes time to unravel, drawing the reader in and ensuring that the attention of the reader is on the characters at all times. I was wholly invested in Cheng and curious to know her story. This is also a book that deals with a identity crisis, addressing the questions of ‘Who am I?’; ‘Who do I want to be?’ Cheng goes through so much in her life with friends, love, and makes a whole lot of enemies up until a point where when she does good, it is not always seen in the same light.
Henry was an interesting character to pit against Cheng, striking wits right from the very beginning. His angle and interest were not always clear but as the story progresses, it is easy to see how important he is to this entire story. This story is told as a conversation between Cheng and Henry in the present with narrations of the past from Cheng’s point of view. There are some 3rd person POVs (very limited) to add some more perspective to the story telling.
I truly fell in love with each of the characters as well as their journeys. If this is how the origins are presented, I am truly looking forward to reading more about the characters and the events that unfold.
